Mercury's eccentricity (page 3)

While the past 50 million years were uneventful, a particular transition around 65 million years ago is associated with clearly discernible, macroscopic changes in the evolution of Mercury's orbit (below). The two simulations exhibit very similar changes at the transition itself, while they diverge from that point on.
